Audience Question

Audience is the group of people who watch your product. At A2 we created a music video, the target audience that we aimed our music video at was a wide range of ages. They ranged from 16-24 years old, this was a mix of both girls and boys which allowed us to gain more fans.

We used psycho graphic profiling research in order to find out what or target audience was like. Due to doing this feedback, we found out that our audience was generally main streamers, which meant that they were the biggest type of audience group.

We decided to sue social media as a way in which we would promote our band and also advertise our new and upcoming music video. This then meant that our audience knew that the music video was coming up and also when it was being released, this was due to them following us through this process. They were able to do this by following us on our social media pages, which we used because we felt this was the best way to target the ages of our audience due to them using social media the most. On our pages, we posted updates of how we were doing with the filming of the video and we also gave some sneak peeks and behind the scenes of the filming. We also created a website which we put the link of in our social media pages, on here we had a countdown to the video release and we also had a gallery and lots of information about the band and the upcoming tours. By doing these things, it meant that our audience had knowledge of our product and knew what was coming. It also allowed our audience to feel involved with us as a band.

Cultivation is something which the audience would have felt when watching our music video, this is because the audience's opinions were slowly changing of the teenagers in the band, this as because they weren't the lazy and stereotypical phone obsessed teenagers, but they were driven and hardworking young girls, and this is clear to the audience from the video. The audience would have gained fashion advice from the girls in the band and they also looked up to us as role models due to how we were portrayed as fun and loving girls who had a passion for singing and performing. Our audience had a sense of belonging as they felt that they were part of the Vanilla crew, we knew this due to the reactions that we got on our social media and also the feedback we got from our website.

The audiences expectations of our video would most likely have been a fun a loving music video. This is mainly because the song itself is very fun and upbeat and the audience would imagine and want the video to match this. They would have imagined it to be fun because when posting on our social media and also on our website there are fun colours and also a glimpse at the balloons which we used in the video. The colours that we used would have also had an effect on what the audience expected from our music video.
